Matias Mesquita (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1976) creates a bridge between the object, sculpting and painting. In his recent research, the artist paints on cement plates, molded by him, bringing the medium to the foreground and exploring the narrative potentialities of the various materials. Matias was awarded the Prêmio IBRAM, with the work "O nu artístico", in 2011. The artist lives and works in Brasília.
