Born in São Gotardo, Minas Gerais (1974) Brazil, she lives and works in São Paulo.
Janaina graduated in Architecture in 1999 and studied Fine Arts from 2004 to 2007, both at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil.
Her art prodction encompasses her knowledge of architecture, physics and mathematics and her observations about time and multiplicity, in order to weave her worldview. Her work transits between different scales – from objects to public spaces.
In recent years, she has shown her work in exhibitions in Brazil, Italy, U.K., France, United States, Netherlands, Japan, Colombia, among other places. Her work is part of important private and institutional collections, such as Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), Fondation Carmignac, BIC Collection, Corinne Ricard, Sérgio Carvalho, Graeme W. Briggs, Jorge Gruenberg and Shom Hinduja.
