Marcelo Tinoco São Paulo, Brazil, b. 1967

Marcelo Tinoco (São Paulo, Brazil, 1967) lives and works in Sao Paulo. The artist intervenes in the photographic image with collages, cut-outs and paintings with digital brushes, composing what he calls "multidisciplinary photography". His intention is to shift this medium from the role of faithful representation of reality to other fields of the visual arts, such as painting.

 

Having been awarded at Prêmio Funarte Marc Ferrez de Fotografia (Brazil, 2013), his work features in the institutional collections of the Consulate General of Brazil in Frankfurt (Germany), of Museu da Imagem e do Som, and of Museu de Arte do Rio.
