Camila Soato (Brasília, Brazil, 1985) lives and works in Sao Paulo. With a research focused on the appropriation of images found on the internet, and related to banal daily life events, the Brazilian artist uses painting to explore the connection between art and life, diluting the mythical image that this technique carries in its history. In her most recent series, Soato reinterprets renowned paintings in the history of art, discussing gender issues and other prevailing discourses.
